Event Description:
The Labor of Love Arts Festival is intended to "fill the void" left by the cancellation of so many events due to the pandemic. It is a Juried Arts Festival scheduled for four days over Labor Day weekend. Friday will be a ticketed preview event that will include refreshments and special raffles. Saturday-Monday will be free and open to the public. Food trucks will be invited to participate and set up on Park Avenue. The event will be publicized on social media, local newspapers and radio.
Artist Guidelines:
-
Art work must be original to the Artist and may not violate U.S. copyright laws.
-
Artists must complete an entry application, release form, and submit images of artwork for consideration by July 15, 2020. Completed applications will be reviewed as received. The committee desires to ensure talented artists in a variety of media will be represented. The committee will have final discretion as to Artists accepted. Artists will be notified by July 30th.
-
The display space fee is $50. This will be refunded only if the Festival is cancelled. Each space is approximately 10x10. Please note: this is a historic building - spaces are not identical. On the application, please indicate if your display space requirements are flexible (e.g., smaller, table only, more narrow). Likewise, indicate if an outdoor space is acceptable.
-
Donation of an art piece representative of the artist is required. Art will be used in auction/raffles to benefit the sponsoring charitable organizations.
-
Display spaces will be assigned when fees/donations are received. Artists must provide their own display fixtures (table, booth structure etc.) There is limited electricity.
-
Display Set-up is Friday 9am-3pm. Booth MUST be completely set up and ready for customers no later than 3pm. NO EXCEPTIONS! Break down is Monday until 8pm. Be aware there is no elevator to the second floor. Volunteers will be available to assist.
-
Artists are expected to operate the booth for all four days and hours of the event.
